Our approach

Tutoring at Olympus Learning focuses on building genuine connections with each student, recognising that every child learns differently. Sessions are personalised and tailored to suit the individual's learning style, goals, and personality, with tutors acting as mentors who relate to their students and make learning engaging and fun. The approach moves away from one-size-fits-all tutoring, instead emphasising study habits, confidence-building, and breaking down intimidating tasks into achievable steps. Sessions are available both in-person and online across NSW, giving families flexibility to choose what works best for them. Throughout tutoring, parents stay informed about progress and have ongoing support from the team.

Meet the team

The Olympus Learning team is led by founder Talia Shapiro, a former Reddam House student and NSW HSC All-rounder who has tutored students from Year 1 to HSC over seven years. All tutors are handpicked high achievers who have recently sat the same exams and faced the same pressure as their students, bringing personal experience and relatability. Tutors bring more than academic excellence—they have passions in music, sport, and other areas that help them connect with students on a personal level and act as genuine mentors. With at least 7 years of tutoring experience represented across the team and 500+ students helped across Sydney, tutors are experienced with both government and independent schools in the area.

Your first visit

The process begins with you filling out a quick form to tell Olympus Learning about your child's goals, personality, and learning style so they can understand your needs. Based on that information, the team personally matches your child with one or two tutors they believe are the right fit—not whoever happens to be available. You then choose your preferred tutor and sessions begin, with ongoing support from the Olympus Learning team throughout. This personalised matching approach ensures your child works with a tutor they can relate to and trust from the start.
