  • Our approach

Norwest Kids Speech Pathology takes a child-centred, functional approach that looks at the whole child, including their well-being, confidence and emotional development. Sessions are tailored to suit each child's individual needs and circumstances, with an emphasis on providing therapy in natural settings such as homes, schools and child care centres where children learn best. The practice prioritises making communication accessible and true to each child, combining evidence-based strategies with links to the NSW curriculum. Parent training and empowerment are central—the team equips families with tools and strategies to support their child's communication at home and across all environments.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is core to the practice philosophy—the team believes that empowering families and a child's full environment is essential for transferring skills and achieving optimal outcomes. They provide face-to-face and online parent training and support to help you implement strategies at home and continue improving your child's communication. The team also collaborates directly with educators in child care and school settings, working as partners in the child's learning journey and ensuring consistent support across all environments.

  • Meet the team

The practice is led by Bhargavi Nirmal (commonly known as Bee), a certified practicing Speech Pathologist with over 10 years of experience. She has worked across diverse settings including private practice, public schools, child care centres in Sydney and London, and brings experience from working in large multidisciplinary teams. The website indicates the team also works with Occupational Therapists in supporting children's development.

  • Your first visit

At the first appointment, the clinician conducts either a screening (a brief assessment of your child's communication skills) or a comprehensive diagnostic assessment, depending on your needs. A diagnostic assessment looks at all areas of your child's overall communication to identify concerns and gaps in development. After the assessment, the team sits down with you to discuss findings and options, and provides detailed findings in a comprehensive report. You have the choice of having your assessment conducted in your home or at their Bella Vista clinic rooms, whichever is most comfortable for your child.
