  • Our approach

At Moment by Moment, therapy flows from the belief that families and children deserve to feel supported, educated and empowered. Sessions are designed to be enjoyable and impactful, incorporating meaningful activities that help children build confidence, independence and everyday life skills. The therapy approach is holistic and child-centred, working across areas like sensory processing, emotional regulation, motor skills, attention and play engagement. Sessions can take place at home, outdoors, school, or online, with the understanding that transformative therapy can happen in any setting. Throughout the journey, the team provides continuous support and celebration of progress, both big and small.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to how Moment by Moment operates. The team prioritises regular check-ins and open communication with you to discuss your child's development and adjust the therapy plan as needed, with your feedback and insights treated as vital to refining the approach. You are an integral contributor in the personalised therapy planning process and are equipped with tools, resources and support to continue fostering your child's independence beyond the therapy session. The team recognises that what families do outside of therapy can make a huge difference in achieving great results. Therapists provide regular session updates and work collaboratively with you and your child's wider support team to ensure the therapy journey remains effective and connected to your family's goals.

  • Meet the team

The team at Moment by Moment is led by founder Sam O'Donovan, an occupational therapist described by families as expert, experienced, well-prepared and continually up to date with new therapies. The team also includes therapists such as Pippa, Amelia and Cas, who are noted by families for their skill in connecting with children, creative approaches, tuned-in attention, and ability to establish strong therapeutic relationships. Team members are occupational therapists who demonstrate expertise in child development, sensory processing, and family-centred care. Therapists are described as considerate, respectful, devoted to their work, and committed to being genuine supporters of families throughout their child's progress journey.

  • Your first visit

The first appointment begins with a comprehensive assessment to understand where your child is at developmentally and personally. This includes in-depth discussion with both you and your child to build a deep understanding of their world and unique personality. Following the assessment, the team collaborates closely with you to develop a personalised therapy plan where your input is an integral part of the process. This collaborative approach ensures the plan is tailored to your child's needs and your family's goals. The team then guides you through engaging therapy sessions and regular progress reviews to keep you informed and involved every step of the way.
