• Our approach

  Mirror Mirror Psychology uses a neuro-affirming approach that celebrates each child's unique strengths and understanding of their support needs. Sessions focus on seeing the whole child—their strengths, current challenges, unique experiences, and diverse backgrounds—rather than trying to change them. The provider believes in promoting support and adaptations to help children live authentically. Assessment sessions are warm and respectful, with activities designed to observe how your child communicates, interacts, and thinks at play. The goal is for families to feel understood and supported throughout the process, with clarity around strategies and support options moving forward.

• Working with families

  Parent involvement is central to the assessment process. The psychologist liaises with educators to gather information about how your child presents in different environments, as this is important for comprehensive understanding (alternative options can be discussed if your child doesn't attend an educational facility). The first appointment is a dedicated parent interview, and the final feedback appointment via telehealth includes a preview of the report with opportunity to ask questions and discuss recommendations. Parents can choose whether their child attends the feedback session, and an additional reflection appointment can be scheduled if you'd like further time to discuss results and ask more questions.

• Meet the team

  Elizabeth Bragianis is a registered Clinical Psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society who founded Mirror Mirror Psychology in 2024. She brings over 20 years of academic study and clinical experience, with expertise in early identification of neurodevelopmental differences and a strong background in community health, educational, and private practice settings. Elizabeth has worked across the age range from under three years through to adolescents, and previously contributed to establishing a multidisciplinary autism assessment clinic. She brings a warm, lighthearted, and respectful approach to her work, with a focus on empowering families and fostering their understanding of their children's development.

• Your first visit

  The first appointment is a parent interview conducted via telehealth, lasting approximately 60 minutes. Before this session, you will be asked to complete questionnaires that the psychologist will review beforehand. During this appointment, the psychologist will gather information about your child's development and how they present in different environments, including information from educators who know your child well. This initial conversation establishes a foundation for the assessment and helps the psychologist understand your family's concerns and goals. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss how the assessment will proceed.
