  • Our approach

Sessions are tailored to each child's needs and based on evidence-based practice. The provider offers both comprehensive assessments and individualised intervention services, working to identify areas of strength and support needs. Goals are set collaboratively with parents and teachers where appropriate, with regular progress tracking. The approach prioritises child and family-centred care, recognising that all children and families are different, and sessions are designed to be engaging and successful. School liaison and support is also available for students in the school setting.

  • Working with families

The provider works collaboratively with parents and teachers throughout care, setting goals together and keeping families involved in the intervention process. Communication is central to the approach, with the provider working closely with families, teachers, and other health professionals to ensure holistic care. Parents receive detailed assessment reports to review in their own time, and regular progress tracking keeps families informed of outcomes.

  • Meet the team

The team includes Melissa Scalise, the principal speech pathologist with over 17 years of experience in both public and private sectors and a Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology, trained in the Lidcombe Program and Hanen It Takes Two to Talk. Madeleine Bromwich, a general paediatric speech pathologist with over 6 years at the practice, is trained to deliver assessment and therapy services for all aspects of communication difficulty in children and has particular interest in language and literacy. Both are Certified Practising Members of Speech Pathology Australia.

  • Your first visit

Initial appointments involve a comprehensive assessment tailored specifically to your child, whether concerns relate to speech, language, literacy, fluency, or voice. The assessment helps identify areas of strength and areas where support may be needed. You'll receive a detailed report following the assessment that you can review in your own time.
