  • Our approach

The clinic draws from cutting edge research and best practice to provide creative, fun and engaging approaches that empower children and parents. Sessions focus on helping little warriors embrace and love who they are through a strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming lens. Evidence-based frameworks including attachment theory, cognitive behavioural therapy and developmental psychology guide their work across different age stages. The aim is to help children thrive and be their best, true selves, with emphasis on creating changes in the environment and expectations rather than pressuring children to change themselves.

  • Working with families

The clinic is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of children and parents equally, recognising that supporting families is central to best outcomes. Parents are actively involved from the start with intake interviews, questionnaires and feedback sessions where assessment findings and recommendations are explained. Classroom observations from teachers are also gathered to provide a full picture of your child across settings. The approach emphasises strengthening parental reflective capacity and providing practical support, with the clinic characterising itself as collaborative and committed to guiding families every step of the way.

  • Meet the team

The clinic is headed by co-founders Dr Ourania Antokas and Dr Haley Webb, both Clinical Psychologists with doctoral-level qualifications from Griffith University and specialist training in child psychology and development. Between them they bring 25 years of clinical experience and 18 years of study and training, with expertise spanning hospital services, community mental health, early intervention, trauma services and private practice. Both are published researchers in international journals of child development and members of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc, with particular interests in neurodevelopment, assessment, emotional and behavioural support, and parenting guidance.

  • Your first visit

Initial appointments typically include a parent intake interview where your family's situation is understood, standardised observational assessments of your child, and parent questionnaires to gather comprehensive information about your child's functioning. The clinic gathers classroom observations from teachers to gain a complete picture of your child across different settings. Assessment results are compiled, analysed and interpreted, with a comprehensive feedback session provided to explain findings and recommendations. This thorough initial process ensures you receive clear guidance on how best to support your little warrior moving forward.
