For children with unilateral cerebral palsy or hemiplegia, therapy to help children use their two hands more effectively together in tasks requiring both hands through repetitive practice and modified tasks.
Modified Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (M-CIMT)
Therapy offered to increase awareness of the affected upper limb in unilateral cerebral palsy/hemiplegia by presenting unimanual toys and tasks to the more affected upper limb while a glove/mitten is worn on the dominant hand.
Goal Directed Therapy
Specific activity-based intervention to target a particular task the child would like to complete or improve, such as knife and fork use, dressing, cutting with scissors, tying shoelaces, meal preparation, or handwriting.
