  • Our approach

The LEARN approach guides everything Learn for Life does, ensuring therapy is practical, personalised, and focused on real-life outcomes. Therapy is tailored to each person's goals, strengths, and everyday routines, with sessions delivered in clinic, at home, school, or in the community. Strategies are grounded in research and best practice, maintained through ongoing professional development. Sessions are typically 45 minutes face-to-face with additional time for preparation and documentation, with frequency individualised to suit each person's needs and lifestyle. The focus is on building practical life skills that carry over into the everyday settings and routines where they matter most, with regular progress reviews and adjustments to the plan as needed.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to Learn for Life's approach. Families and carers are worked with collaboratively every step of the way, with practical strategies, education, and home programs provided to support progress between sessions. Families and support networks play a key role in helping therapy outcomes translate into real-life success, with therapists fostering safe relationships built on collaboration and respect. The clinic takes the time to understand each family's unique goals and works closely with their support network so everyone around the child can support their progress every day. Regular communication and check-ins ensure strategies are consistent across home, school, and community settings.

  • Meet the team

The team consists of seven occupational therapists: Brie (Clinical Lead) with expertise in independence, executive functioning, and emotional regulation across all ages; Jasmine (Senior OT) specialising in ADHD, executive functioning, PDA, and sensory regulation for early intervention through primary school; Lily (Senior OT) with strong interests in emotional regulation, sensory processing, and foundational developmental skills; Chiara with a focus on interoception, self-esteem, and practical everyday skills for young children through young adults; Joe with broad community experience in sensory processing and emotional regulation; Joanna with expertise in social-emotional development and early intervention; and Jemima specialising in sensory processing and regulation across early childhood through adolescence. All are registered occupational therapists with AHPRA and members of Occupational Therapy Australia. The team also includes administration and finance support staff.

  • Your first visit

Your therapy begins with a meaningful conversation where you'll explore daily routines, celebrate strengths, and understand challenges together. At your first session, you'll meet your therapist, get to know each other, and discuss the best ways to move forward in a space focused on building trust and comfort. Your therapist will identify the most helpful next steps and any assessments needed to ensure therapy is tailored to your unique learning style, strengths, and goals. The session lays the foundation for growth and gives space for honest discussions, ensuring the focus is on what matters most to you and your family.
