  • Our approach

Ladybug House takes a holistic, family-centred approach to therapy that empowers children and their families to become self-reliant. The practice is neuroaffirming, embracing the strengths and uniqueness of all children while providing evidence-based therapy. Sessions are tailored to individual needs and may include 1:1 sessions, off-site visits, parent training, small group sessions, or resource packs. The focus is on creating environments that support strong engagement at home, school, and play, helping children develop the skills they need for everyday participation and learning.

  • Working with families

The provider uses a family-centred approach that involves parents and carers as key partners in therapy. Parents are included in the feedback and goal-setting process, where findings from the assessment are discussed and goals are collaborated on together. Therapy recommendations often include parent training as one component, ensuring families are equipped with strategies to support their child's progress at home. This collaborative partnership extends to ongoing communication, with the team working alongside families to create environments that support engagement at home, school, and play.

  • Meet the team

Ladybug House is a clinician-led multidisciplinary team with Speech Pathologists who are all Certified Practising Speech Pathologists under Speech Pathology Australia, and Occupational Therapists who are all registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. The team includes experienced clinicians who specialise in speech and language needs including stuttering and developmental language delay, as well as occupational therapy to enable children's participation in everyday activities. Some team members bring over 7 years of experience with Ladybug House and have been instrumental in shaping the clinic's culture and approach.

  • Your first visit

The initial assessment is aimed at building rapport and gathering valuable insight into your child's strengths and challenges. Following the assessment, the team discusses their findings with you and collaborates to set goals based on the results. After this, a customised therapy plan is developed based on your child's individual needs, which determines appropriate therapy approaches, timeframes, and frequency. This plan may recommend a combination of 1:1 sessions, off-site visits, parent training, small group sessions, or resource packs tailored to support your child's progress.
