  • Our approach

The clinic provides evidence-based assessment, diagnosis and treatment tailored to each child's individual needs. Sessions focus on helping young people and families identify and address emotional, behavioural and developmental challenges that may be standing in the way of reaching their full potential. The team works collaboratively with children, adolescents, young adults and their families to support them through difficulties, equipping them with strategies and tools they can use. The approach emphasises early intervention and the lasting impact that therapeutic work can have during childhood and adolescence.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to the clinic's approach, with treatment programs designed for both individual children and parent management skills. When referred through Medicare, your treating psychologist will provide written updates to your GP, paediatrician or psychiatrist after the sixth consultation and at the conclusion of treatment. The clinic welcomes parents and carers as part of the therapeutic process and encourages open communication about your child's progress. Our friendly team is available to answer any questions and discuss how family involvement will be structured within your child's treatment plan.

  • Meet the team

The clinic employs a diverse team of highly qualified and experienced psychologists across two locations. The team includes clinical psychologists, educational and developmental psychologists, registered psychologists, provisional psychologists, mental health practitioners and accredited mental health social workers. Key leaders include John Blythe (Principal Clinical Psychologist and Director), Amanda Goh (JBCP Blacktown Clinic Supervisor), and Danielle Fioramonte (Lead Manager of Clinical Services at JBCP Macarthur). The clinic has grown from two clinicians since 2004 to now help more families than ever, with staff focusing on different treatment areas including autism spectrum, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, ADHD, dyslexia and oppositional behaviours.
