Our approach
Therapy at Grow & Tell follows a structured, evidence-led approach centred on play-based activities that keep sessions engaging and meaningful for children. The therapists work through an Assess-Plan-Therapy-Review process: they carefully evaluate your child's strengths and areas for support, collaborate with families to set achievable goals, deliver tailored sessions matched to your child's learning needs, provide regular progress updates, and offer home practice opportunities to support ongoing development. All therapists are registered with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and Occupational Therapy Australia (OTAus), ensuring therapy is grounded in current best practice research.
Working with families
The practice works closely with families to ensure therapy feels practical, supportive and tailored to real life, helping parents feel informed and confident at every step. Homework is provided between sessions, and a communication book is given to schools or childcare providers to support consistent practice across environments. The team liaises with preschools, schools and other professionals to share progress and recommendations, so therapy support can be implemented across all settings. When children miss sessions due to illness or other commitments, the practice continues supporting families through alternative services such as parent-only telehealth, sending resources or homework packs, and contacting schools or childcare to discuss progress.
Meet the team
The team includes experienced, university-qualified speech pathologists and occupational therapists, all registered with their respective professional bodies. Speech pathologists include Elena Kosmas (Lead), Bethany Fisher, Tiffany Mak, Cynthia Choy, Shannon Tang, Nimi Vakeeswaran, Kaitlyn McCarthy, and Joanna Luo, each holding degrees in speech pathology and professional memberships. Occupational therapists include Japeth Tico Dia (trained in Ayres' Sensory Integration), James Delasan (trained in MNRI Dynamic & Postural Reflex Integration and the SOS Approach to Feeding), Allen Gongora, Marine Chong, Jessie Lam, and Debbie Tsang, all holding bachelor's or bachelor's honours degrees in occupational therapy. Many team members speak multiple languages and bring experience from international practice.
Your first visit
Your first appointment will include a careful and comprehensive evaluation to understand your child's strengths and areas for support. The session typically runs for 60 minutes (45 minutes face-to-face plus 15 minutes for progress notes), and no referral is needed to book an assessment. The therapist will use standardised assessments to identify where your child may be experiencing difficulties or delays in communication compared to peers of the same age. Following the assessment, the therapist works closely with you to set meaningful and achievable goals before therapy begins, and if you have an existing report within the last 12 months, therapy can start immediately.
