Our approach
At Glimmer, therapy is built on a relationship-based philosophy that prioritises connection and calm. Drawing from Polyvagal Theory and Ayres Sensory Integration, sessions focus on identifying "glimmers"—small moments of joy and safety—to help children regulate their nervous system and feel supported. The approach is neuroaffirming and trauma-informed, recognising each child's unique needs and strengths. Sessions take place in a safe and nurturing space at the fully equipped clinic, designed to help children develop the skills they need for meaningful activities like learning, playing and socialising. The occupational therapist works collaboratively with children and their trusted adults to explore new ways of learning and help develop their brain through play and practical activities.
