Our approach
Therapy at Embolden Kids is gentle, child-led, and built on play, joy, and curiosity. Sessions follow each child's strengths and interests in a calm, welcoming space where children feel safe and respected. The approach is neuroaffirming, honouring each child's unique communication style and sensory needs, with multimodal communication support including verbal, AAC, gestures, and signs. Therapy aims not to change who a child is, but to support their confidence, wellbeing, and ability to communicate in ways that feel authentic to them, supported by evidence-based methods and gentle transitions with predictable routines.
Working with families
Parents and caregivers are key partners in every step of therapy, with insights guiding everything that happens. Families are involved in collaborative goal-setting to ensure goals are meaningful and tailored to each child's individual strengths and needs. The service communicates clearly with families about session recommendations, funding options, and support coordinators when needed, providing transparent information without surprises. Parents are empowered in their role to help their children, and the approach emphasises genuine partnership with families throughout the therapy journey.
