Our approach
The clinical model integrates world-class research with everyday practice to deliver evidence-based therapies as quickly as possible. Clinicians work collaboratively with parents and carers to find the best approach for each family, tailoring supports to the individual needs of the child. Sessions are delivered from state-of-the-art clinics in Subiaco and Joondalup, with flexible options including clinic visits, school, home and community visits as agreed with each family. Therapy frequency varies from weekly to monthly depending on support recommendations and family capacity. Specialised programs include speech pathology, occupational therapy, psychology and focused therapy programs such as PACT, CO-OP, JASPER and ESDM for children under 9 with autism or developmental delay.
Working with families
Clinicians work directly with parents and carers to find the best therapeutic approach for each family and involve them in tailoring supports to their child's needs. Parents have the opportunity to participate in parent information sessions and the Empower-Autism parent group program for those recently diagnosed. The Client Support Team provides families with assistance navigating complex funding options and developing plans that suit their child's needs and family capacity. While families are never expected to participate in research, opportunities are available for those interested in being involved in current research projects.
Meet the team
The clinical team consists of qualified Speech Pathologists, Clinical Psychologists and Occupational Therapists led by clinical leads in each discipline. These allied health professionals have extensive experience working with young children, particularly those with autism. The team is supported by a Clinical Services Manager, Operations Manager and Client Support Team who help families navigate funding pathways and provide ongoing information and guidance. Clinicians work alongside internationally-renowned researchers to collaborate on research projects and translate evidence into clinical practice, ensuring families access the most current, scientifically-backed therapies.
