• Our approach

  At Eli's Place, therapy is built on evidence-informed, play-based, and neurodiversity-affirming approaches that honour each child's unique strengths and needs. The team draws on a wide variety of frameworks and tools including DIR Floortime, Sensory Integration Therapy, the ALERT Program, LEGO-Based Therapy, and individualised communication supports tailored to each child. Whether working on communication, motor skills, emotional regulation, or feeding, sessions are designed to be meaningful, fun, and empowering, with a focus on real-world success. The practice prioritises family-focused, strengths-based care that helps children and families achieve their goals in ways that feel authentic and supportive.

• Working with families

  The practice believes strongly in family-centred care and building strong partnerships with families to provide realistic and practical support. Communication with parents and carers emphasises trust and well-being, with the goal of empowering both children and parents to navigate the therapy journey with confidence. The approach is collaborative, with families central to achieving goals and supporting real-world success.

• Meet the team

  The team comprises occupational therapists Megan Doherty, Tyneele Armstrong, and Emily van der Merwe, alongside speech pathologists Maisha Kabir and Courtney Bilsborough. Tammie Eggerling serves as Operations Manager, and there is a therapy dog in training named Astro. Each team member undergoes continuous training and brings expertise in delivering high-quality, effective therapy services with a deep understanding of developmental needs.
