  • Our approach

The approach at East Sydney Psychologists is evidence-based and focused on establishing trusting relationships with clients. Sessions are individually tailored to each person's specific needs and goals, delivered in a warm and caring manner. Psychologists work collaboratively with clients using a range of proven therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Sessions can be arranged weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on your situation, and your psychologist will discuss the recommended number of sessions after your first appointment.

  • Meet the team

East Sydney Psychologists has four registered psychologists on the team. Anna Pengue (BSSc, M.A, MPsych Clinical, MAPS) is a trauma-informed clinical psychologist with expertise in anxiety, trauma and PTSD who uses EMDR and Internal Family Systems approaches. Natasha Sindicich (BPsych Honours, MPsych Forensic, MAPS) has extensive experience with anxiety, depression and addictions, working with adolescents and children aged 8 and older. Dinelka de Silva and Malini Selvamahesen are also registered psychologists on staff, each bringing experience with adolescents and adults across a range of mental health presentations. All practitioners use evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to individual needs.

  • Your first visit

At your first appointment, your psychologist will conduct a collaborative assessment of your concerns and goals to understand what brought you in and what you hope to achieve. They will discuss the appropriate treatments that may help and talk through how many sessions you might need to reach your goals. The treatment plan could involve short-term therapy or longer ongoing support, arranged at whatever frequency works best for your circumstances. If you have concerns about time or finances, the team can work with you to find a solution-focused approach and break therapy into stages.
