Our approach
Early Start Australia works with families using evidence-based therapy tailored to each child's individual needs and goals. The team supports children across their daily life—at home, school and in the community—by developing language, motor, cognitive, social and emotional skills. Sessions focus on helping children and families achieve their dreams and aspirations, with therapists working collaboratively with parents to understand goals and create personalised therapy packages. The approach emphasises supporting children with developmental delay or disability, including autism spectrum disorder, and making sessions engaging and meaningful through play and creative, strengths-based practice.
Working with families
Family involvement is central to the approach. The multi-disciplinary team works together with parents to understand the child's needs and develop plans with evidence-based strategies. Therapists share information and provide evidence-informed advice on your family's journey, aiming to achieve better outcomes for your child's life. Meet the team
The Coomera team includes occupational therapists, speech pathologists and a physiotherapist with varied qualifications and experience. Several therapists hold AHPRA registrations and Bachelor degrees in their respective fields; some are new graduates and others have 15+ years of paediatric experience. The team brings specialised expertise in areas including autism spectrum disorder, early intervention, sensory integration, DIR Floortime, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), literacy, and selective mutism. Additional support is provided by therapy coordinators and allied health assistants who work alongside the therapists to support children's goals in a collaborative, family-centred manner.
