Our approach
Dyslexia Australia recognises the unique learning style of visual learners and uses a multi-sensory, non-phonics based approach to support children struggling with reading, comprehension, sight words and phonics. The method is designed to address not only the reading difficulties associated with dyslexia but also the behavioural and emotional challenges that can accompany them. Rather than teaching in a conventional way, the approach focuses on allowing children to learn by taking away confusion and struggle through visual and picture thinking strategies. Sessions support children in developing confidence alongside improved reading skills.
