Our approach

Dream Sleep OT works from the philosophy that behaviour makes sense when you understand the nervous system behind it. Sessions focus on regulation first, looking at your child's whole picture—their sensory processing, emotional regulation, daily routines, and environment—rather than just sleep habits and schedules. The approach recognises that children with ADHD, autism, and sensory differences experience the world differently, and that winding down can feel genuinely hard for their body and brain. Instead of rigid routines or behavioural strategies that weren't designed for neurodivergent nervous systems, the work supports the nervous system state that either allows or prevents sleep from occurring. You'll receive personalised, doable support that feels clear and calm.

Working with families

Parents and carers are central to the work, and Jessinta offers clear, calm support designed to help families understand their child's wiring. Sessions include a personalised home environment audit to identify environmental factors affecting sleep, and Jessinta provides NDIS-ready clinical documentation so families can access funded support. Communication is straightforward—if you're unsure about funding or what your plan covers, Jessinta will help you understand what's possible and what documentation is needed, and she's available to guide you through referral processes. The free guide and Sensory Bedtime Menu are designed to support parents directly, offering practical strategies and tools they can use immediately at home.

Meet the team

Jessinta Benton is a paediatric occupational therapist based in Maylands, Perth, and is AHPRA registered with training in paediatric occupational therapy. She works with babies through to teenagers and has experience supporting children with sensory processing differences, autism, ADHD, emotional regulation challenges, and sleep difficulties. Jessinta brings a deep understanding of how the neurodivergent nervous system works and is committed to providing support that feels clear, calm and doable for families. The website does not indicate additional team members.

Your first visit

An initial appointment begins with an application and conversation to explore what's happening for your child and whether working together makes sense. For the 3-Month 1:1 Intensive program, this is followed by a deep-dive sensory assessment, fortnightly sessions, and a personalised home environment audit to identify what in your child's environment might be getting in the way of sleep. If you're using Medicare's Chronic Disease Management plan, your GP will need to issue a referral before sessions begin, and Jessinta can guide you through that process. The first steps are designed to build a thorough understanding of your child's nervous system and individual needs so that support can be truly personalised.
