  • Our approach

Days Ahead Speech Pathology believes in placing relationship-building and laughter at the centre of therapy, with a strong emphasis on play-based learning and family-centred practice. Sessions are holistic and practical, designed to be enjoyable for children. The clinician uses evidence-based interventions and has specialised training in several approaches including DIR/Floortime, Hanen: It Takes Two to Talk, Social Thinking, PODD, Collaborative & Proactive Solutions, and SoundsWrite. The practice works with children across a wide range of needs, from speech sound disorders to social communication, autism, ADHD and developmental delay, adapting therapy to suit each child's unique journey.

  • Working with families

The practice is built on family-centred principles and works hard to deliver practical therapy that suits family needs. Sessions are available as mobile therapy in familiar settings like home, school, kindergarten or childcare, or via telehealth, making it easier for parents to be involved. Families receive a detailed report after assessment including recommendations to guide their involvement in their child's progress. The practice actively encourages parents to get in touch to discuss their needs and how therapy can best fit their family.

  • Meet the team

The team is led by Sarah Day, Director and Speech Pathologist, who holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Science, Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours), and Master of Speech Pathology Australia. Sarah is passionate about childhood development and has extensive experience working with both neurotypical and neurodiverse children, including those with autism, ADHD, developmental delay, dyslexia, speech sound disorders, language disorders, stuttering, feeding difficulties, and social communication needs. She has completed additional specialist training in multiple therapeutic approaches and is committed to providing continuity of care throughout each child's journey.

  • Your first visit

The first appointment is an Initial Assessment session lasting 60 minutes, designed to meet your child and understand their needs. The assessment is tailored to your child—either a screening or comprehensive assessment depending on what's needed. Following the session, you'll receive a detailed report that includes assessment results, interpretation of findings, and recommendations for moving forward. This foundational appointment helps establish the direction for your child's therapy journey.
