Our approach
Coolbellup Learning Centre uses a range of specialist teaching methods tailored to each student's individual needs, including ABA, TEACCH, PECS, explicit teaching, direct instruction, and play-based learning. The centre delivers Individualised Education Programs (IEPs) in a supportive environment that combines life skills, functional programs with academic learning, encouraging students to develop independence and reach their personal best. Specialist programs are offered in autism intervention, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), social skills, protective behaviours, and fundamental movement skills. Staff participate in ongoing professional learning to enhance their practices, and the centre works collaboratively with parents, carers, and therapists to ensure students acquire the skills they need to participate actively in their communities.
