Our approach
CommuneOT uses evidence-based occupational therapy guided by family-centred, strength-based, and neurodivergent-affirming principles. Sessions are individualised to each child and family's needs and goals, and may include one-to-one sessions, parent coaching, telehealth, or group sessions. The service is mobile and comes to you in natural environments like home, daycare, schools, parks, or local community spaces, which creates real opportunities for parents and educators to build their capacity alongside the child. By working in these everyday settings, the environment can be adapted to support the child's participation in meaningful occupations—whether that's play, self-care routines, learning, or social activities. Parent and caregiver involvement is essential, with the aim of empowering families to support their child's development.
