  • Your first visit

Your initial appointment is designed to help your psychologist understand what is happening for you through asking detailed questions, and you are free to ask questions too. Coming to counselling can feel daunting or uncomfortable, especially if you've never been before, but your psychologist is there to support you and you remain in complete control over what you share and when. The session lasts 50 minutes and typically involves information gathering to get a good understanding of your situation. You are encouraged to speak openly, though it's important to know there is no pressure—your wellbeing and comfort are prioritised throughout.
