  • Our approach

Coast Kids OT takes a family-centered, evidence-based approach tailored to each child's unique needs and goals. Rather than working in a clinic, the team comes to you—delivering therapy in your home, preschool, school, or community so that support happens in the settings where your child needs it most. The therapists focus on your child's strengths and barriers to participating in play and daily activities like dressing, eating, sleeping, and playing, then develop individualised plans to help them participate meaningfully throughout their day. This approach recognises that children learn best in their natural environments, and it also means the service fits around your family's life rather than adding extra stress through constant travel or appointments.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to how Coast Kids OT works. Your goals and priorities shape the entire therapy plan, and the team actively communicates with you to understand what matters most for your child and family. By delivering therapy in your natural environments—whether home, preschool, school or community—parents and carers are naturally involved in sessions and can see firsthand how strategies are implemented. This approach also recognises that constant therapy can impact family life, so the service is designed to work with you in a way that actually improves rather than disrupts your day-to-day routines. The team also works collaboratively with other service providers and stakeholders to help achieve your goals.
