Our approach
Psychoanalytic child psychotherapy is a specialist, doctorate-level approach that helps children express themselves through play, creative materials, and talking rather than relying solely on spoken words. This makes it particularly helpful for children who struggle to identify or discuss their feelings. During sessions, younger children primarily communicate through play, while older children and adolescents may use play, creative materials, and conversation together. The approach focuses on helping children develop understanding of troubling emotions and find words to express their worries and feelings, addressing a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex issues other therapies may not have resolved.
