Working with families

Family involvement is central to Care Squared Kids' approach—parents and carers are key partners throughout. You'll collaborate with the team to identify your child's priorities and preferences, and you'll receive a copy of the agreed intervention plan to share with key people in your child's life and use to chart progress. The coordinated care model reduces the need to repeat your child's history across multiple professionals, and communication flows through the Lead Clinician, making it easier for families to stay informed. The team will also work with you to determine the best timing for reports so that information is accurate and up-to-date when you need it.

Your first visit

At the first appointment, the Lead Clinician will complete an initial coordinated care visit with your child and family or carer, which is then shared with the broader multidisciplinary team. During this visit, you'll be walked through the Schedule of Supports and Service Menu to identify your preferences for assessment, intervention and reporting. This approach means you won't need to repeat your child's history and background information, and the clinician can conduct a richer clinical investigation with a clear understanding of your child's current priorities. Where appropriate, a dynamic assessment approach is used to allow for a fluid evaluation process and time to build rapport with your child.
