Our approach
Bright Stars OT uses a flexible, child-centred approach tailored to each individual's needs and strengths. Sessions focus on developing fine motor, gross motor, executive functioning, social, self-care and sensory processing skills through everyday activities. Therapy can be delivered in your home, preschool, school or via telehealth, ensuring it fits into your family's routine. The provider combines clinical observations and standardised assessment tools to understand your child's challenges and abilities, then applies intervention strategies such as equipment recommendations, individual therapy, school-based programs and home exercises. Work with other health professionals and your child's school or preschool is part of the holistic support offered.
Your first visit
The first visit involves a thorough assessment to understand your child's needs and abilities. This includes clinical observations, standardised assessment tools, and a discussion with you and your child about their everyday challenges and strengths. Following this initial assessment, the team will recommend possible intervention strategies tailored to your child, which may include individual therapy sessions, school-based programs, home programs, or liaison with other health professionals and your child's school or preschool.
