  • Our approach

Bloom uses research evidence and experience to create personalised programs for each child. Sessions are tailored to ensure children feel confident and comfortable, no matter their ability or personality. The team emphasises making therapy fun and functional, with a strong belief that children learn best in an engaging environment. Goal-setting is a collaborative process involving parents, the speech pathologist, and the child where appropriate. The clinic is committed to maximising each child's communication potential through evidence-based practice and genuine care for their growth.

  • Working with families

Parents are recognised as experts on their own child and work together with the speech pathologist and child to develop meaningful goals. With your permission, Bloom communicates with other services your child receives to ensure a holistic approach to intervention. The team values working closely with families and caregivers, making therapy functional, fun, and meaningful in ways that matter to your child's real life. Staff are experienced in partnering with preschools, schools, and families to set individualized goals and support children's progress together.

  • Meet the team

Bloom has a team of experienced speech pathologists led by founder Amanda Best, who brings over 20 years of paediatric speech pathology experience and specialises in early intervention. The team includes Caitlin Reader, Claire Wallbridge, Jessica Wee, Lily McLaren, Taylor Duncan, Kara Mammone, Emily Santoro, Tayla Filleti, and Carla Mezzini—all certified practising speech pathologists with training in evidence-based approaches like PODD, Key Word Sign, Hanen programs, and speech sound interventions. Natalie De Pasquale is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with paediatric nutrition expertise. Each team member brings experience from education settings, private practice, and early intervention, with qualifications in specialised areas such as literacy, feeding, AAC, autism, and social communication.

  • Your first visit

During your initial contact, you'll discuss your child's needs with Bloom, and there's no separate charge for initial sessions or assessment sessions. The team will chat with you about the most appropriate setting for your child, whether that's at the clinic, your home, school, or another location. An assessment involves gathering information about your child's abilities and needs, with the recognition that you are the expert on your child. Sessions are available at times that suit your family, including before and after school, during the day, and in school holidays. After hours appointments can also be arranged upon request.
