Our approach
Bloom Speech Pathology & Co uses a client and family-centred approach, emphasising collaboration and empowerment in therapy. Sessions are delivered through evidence-based techniques applied via activities and games, tailored to each child's specific goals. Parent or caregiver involvement is integral to therapy—families remain present during sessions or maintain regular contact with the speech pathologist if sessions occur at school. Home practice activities and strategies are provided to support learning beyond sessions. Individual therapy sessions run for 60 minutes, with goals set collaboratively between the speech pathologist, child and family based on assessment outcomes.
Working with families
Parent and caregiver involvement is an integral component of therapy at Bloom Speech Pathology & Co. Families are required to remain present during individual therapy sessions, or maintain regular contact with the speech pathologist if sessions occur at school. The speech pathologist provides parent and caregiver training during sessions and supplies home practice activities and strategies to support learning at home. Communication is personalised to each family's needs and circumstances.

Your first visit

Following this discussion, the speech pathologist will assess your child's communication skills using either formalised assessments or informal observations and observations, depending on your child's needs. At the end of the initial appointment, feedback and recommendations based on the assessment outcomes are provided to guide next steps.
