  • Our approach

Therapy at Babble Bees is evidence-based, neuro-affirming, and family-centred, built on the belief that communication grows through connection, play, and feeling safe enough to try. Sessions are tailored to each child's unique profile and goals, with clinicians using engaging, activity-based approaches suited to the child's needs. The practice values the child's strengths and distinctive ways of engaging with the world, embracing neurodiversity rather than viewing differences as deficits. Parents and carers are actively involved in sessions, with time allocated for feedback and guidance on strategies to support their child at home. Therapy is reviewed regularly each term to track progress and ensure goals remain aligned with the child's evolving needs.

  • Working with families

Parents and carers are core to the therapy process at Babble Bees, with all sessions including dedicated time for receiving feedback, guidance on strategies, and collaborative discussion. The team works alongside families to understand their unique goals and challenges, reviewing progress each term and adjusting the therapy plan in partnership with the family. Clinicians also support parents to understand their child's neurotype and provide parent coaching as a service option. Communication is straightforward and collaborative, with the clinic keeping families informed about their child's progress, next steps, and how to support communication goals in everyday settings.

  • Meet the team

The team includes three registered Certified Practising Speech Pathologists: Krystal Butler (Founder, 10 years' experience with a Master of Speech Pathology and strong background in assessment, therapy, and building parental and teacher capacity), Corlis Chan (Master of Speech Pathology, specialising in speech sound disorders, bilingual development, and early intervention), and Jasmine Garcia (10 years' experience with Bachelor of Speech Pathology and expertise in autism, AAC, feeding, and trauma-informed practice). All three are qualified in various evidence-based training programs including Hanen®, Sounds-Write, and specialised approaches. The clinic is also supported by two medical receptionists who handle bookings and day-to-day clinic operations.

  • Your first visit

During an initial consultation, the clinician will review your child's history, make informal observations, and complete a simple screening to identify their strengths and challenges. Standard consultations are 45 minutes of face-to-face time, while extended consultations (60 minutes) are available for complex or multiple concerns. After the session, the clinician carefully reviews the screening results to help decide the best way to support your child. You'll receive a clear picture of your child's communication needs and a plan for the next steps in therapy, guiding you through what comes next.
