Our approach
Sessions are tailored to each child's unique needs and preferences through a collaborative, individualised process. The team uses a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and exposure therapy, among others. Sessions are designed to empower children to create positive change in their lives and build their self-efficacy and independence. The practice takes a multidisciplinary and holistic approach, drawing on psychology, psychotherapy and occupational therapy expertise. This ensures comprehensive support that addresses each child's individual circumstances and goals.
Working with families
Parents and carers are actively involved throughout the therapeutic process. In the Cool Kids Anxiety Program, parents or caregivers attend sessions with their child, learn anxiety management strategies, and support their child's progress outside of therapy sessions, as family involvement enhances treatment effectiveness. The practice works collaboratively with schools and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive support for each child. The team values open communication and regularly meets with and liaises with school teachers and departments as part of their holistic approach to supporting children and their families.
