About Whiz Kids Therapy
Whiz Kids Therapy is redefining support for families and communities. Their mission is to center parents and children, supporting families where they live, work and play, by empowering and unleashing the capacity in our communities. They build real-world capacity using technology that children already have access to, embedding learning within the digital environments children use every day rather than focusing only on clinic-based exercises.
What Whiz Kids helps with
Assessment
A thorough evaluation by a psychologist using standardised tests, interviews and observation to understand a person's cognitive, emotional and behavioural functioning. Results inform diagnosis and guide recommendations for therapy, school adjustments and support services.
One-on-one sessions by a speech pathologist to address articulation, language, and communication goals, delivered weekly during school terms with weekly updates and resources for home/school practice.
Individual Therapy Assistant Support
One-on-one sessions by a supervised therapy assistant to reinforce therapy goals in home, community, or school settings, with 2-4 hours/term supervision by a speech pathologist.

Our approach
Whiz Kids Therapy takes an evidence-based, child-centered approach designed to build real-world independence and communication skills. Sessions embed learning within the digital environments children use every day—such as speech-to-text, read-aloud tools, and digital planning systems—rather than focusing solely on clinic-based exercises. The practice uses a structured team model where a speech pathologist oversees assessment, planning, and clinical responsibility, while therapy assistants deliver consistent, supervised intervention, allowing protected time for careful analysis and strategic program adjustment. Therapy is intentionally planned, regularly reviewed, and aligned with your child's goals across school, home, and community settings, with a focus on preparing children for the world they are growing into.
Working with families
The practice prioritises family collaboration and keeps parents central to decision-making. Parents are involved from the outset through questionnaires, feedback sessions to discuss assessment results and goals, and weekly updates during therapy. The team works to align therapy with family aspirations and supports informed consent at every step, ensuring transparent communication about how therapy connects to your child's school, home, and broader goals. Where possible, the practice uses secure digital platforms to reduce fragmented communication and improve clarity around shared goals, fostering a collaborative network between families, schools, and allied health professionals.
Meet the team
The team is led by Alexandra, the founder and a speech pathologist with a Master's in Speech Pathology and Bachelor of Social Work, bringing expertise from private practice, schools, and hospitals, alongside lived experience as a mother of two children with learning challenges. Ashleigh, a speech pathologist who graduated in 2017, specialises in school-aged children's speech, language, and literacy development, trained in evidence-based programs including Sounds-Write, Talk 4 Writing, and the Lidcombe Program. Patrick, a fourth-year speech pathology student and therapy assistant, brings expertise in literacy, fluency, speech, language, and AAC support. All team members hold current professional qualifications, maintain Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status with Speech Pathology Australia, and hold current Working with Children Cards.
Your first visit
A first appointment includes a comprehensive assessment with multiple components to understand your child's needs. The process involves one-on-one assessments, observations in classroom or playground settings, parent questionnaires, and review of external documents such as school or allied health reports. Following assessment, there is an online parent feedback session to explain results, goals, and recommendations, culminating in a robust, evidence-based report using gold-standard tools to guide therapy and support any NDIS submissions if required. This thorough approach ensures therapy planning is grounded in your child's individual profile and family priorities.
Whiz Kids Therapy is not currently listed as a registered NDIS provider on the NDIS Commission register. They may still support plan-managed or self-managed NDIS participants — contact them to confirm.
