The Shepherd Centre is a world-leading, child-safe NDIS service provider and specialist in helping children with hearing loss learn to listen and speak. We have helped thousands of children reach their full potential for over 50 years. - World-leading early intervention service for babies and toddlers with hearing loss, including individual and group programs.
- First Sounds Implant Program
- Joint initiative with Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick providing medical, audiological and family support for children considering implantable hearing solutions such as cochlear implants or bone conduction implant systems.
- School-Age Services
- Range of school-age services in NDIS areas, including school visits and one-to-one and group programs.
- Unilateral & Mild Hearing Loss Program

Working with families
Parents and carers are central to the service delivery model, with the centre supporting families to develop their skills through guidance and coaching tailored to each family's unique needs. Staff reach out to families regularly with clear communication about their child's progress and any changes to services, including recent updates about invoicing formats designed based on family feedback to improve transparency and user-friendliness. Families are encouraged to reach out to their immediate team with questions or concerns at any time. The centre also provides supporting documents and advocacy assistance to help families navigate processes like NDIS planning, recognising that parents are their child's primary advocate and supporting them to feel confident in that role.
Meet the team
The leadership team includes Dr Aleisha Davis (Chief Executive Officer), with a Masters in Applied Linguistics and speech pathology background, overseeing clinical innovation and research; Angelika Dalkeith (Director of Clinical Programs); and David Brady (Director of Community Engagement), who is profoundly deaf and brings lived experience of hearing loss. The clinical teams comprise Listening & Spoken Language Specialists, Paediatric Audiologists, Child & Family Counsellors, and Early Childhood Educators working in an interdisciplinary model. The centre also partners with Sydney Children's Hospital and ENT specialists for cochlear implant programs. All staff are aligned with the organisation's mission and values as skilled, engaged team members.
