Our approach
The Movement Standard uses a personalised, one-on-one approach that treats the body as a whole rather than addressing isolated symptoms. Sessions combine hands-on physiotherapy care with exercise-based techniques tailored to each person's specific needs and goals. The team works collaboratively across disciplines—integrating physiotherapy with exercise physiology and strength and conditioning—to support your journey from immediate pain relief through to long-term strength, mobility and performance. Whether recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition, or enhancing athletic performance, the focus is on restoring movement and improving quality of life through evidence-based practices.
Meet the team
The team includes two Directors—Aaron Whitecross (Exercise Physiologist) and Luke Glacken (Exercise Scientist)—plus three Physiotherapists: Lyndsey Scholes, Tarj Townson and Jonathan Low. Additional Exercise Physiologists on the team are Kimberley Bowman, Kyle Pike, Thomas Billion and Katelyn Murray, and Natasha Acker provides sports therapy services. The team are qualified, experienced professionals specialising in exercise physiology, physiotherapy, exercise science and dietetics, with Sport and Exercise Physiotherapists having undergone advanced training. They collaborate across disciplines to provide multidisciplinary care under one roof.
Your first visit
Your first appointment lasts 60 minutes and begins with a thorough discussion of your health history, lifestyle and goals to understand your unique needs. Your practitioner will conduct a detailed assessment of your movement patterns and any pain or discomfort you're experiencing. Following this assessment, a personalised care plan is created based on pre- and post-assessments, with your practitioner outlining the most effective treatment approach for your recovery. Depending on your needs, treatments may include targeted exercises, Reformer Pilates, dry needling or remedial massage. No referral is required to book an initial appointment.
