Our approach
The Health Cove takes a holistic, individualised approach to treatment, combining various modalities tailored specifically to each person's needs and condition. Sessions are designed to be relaxing and supportive, whether that's through acupuncture, massage, cupping, osteopathy or psychology—each treatment is customised rather than following a one-size-fits-all model. The clinic prioritises taking time with clients, slowing things down, and understanding their full health picture before planning treatment. Their philosophy stems from treating the whole person, addressing physical, emotional and mental wellbeing through both Eastern and Western medical perspectives.
Meet the team
The team comprises experienced registered acupuncturists, osteopaths, massage therapists, and psychologists with qualifications from recognised institutions. Key practitioners include founders Dr Angus Timms and Dr Chantelle Muellner (both BHSc Acupuncture, AHPRA registered), Hannah Porter (BHSc Acupuncture, trained in yoga and wellness), Elissa Pelling (15+ years women's health experience, trained in Natural Fertility Awareness and as a Doula), and several osteopaths including Kate May (Master's in Osteopathic Medicine, nearly a decade of experience, specialising in paediatric care and pregnancy support). All practitioners have extensive training and qualifications, with many holding Master's degrees and specialist certifications in areas like mental health, fertility, and chronic pain management.
Your first visit
Initial consultations are unhurried, comprehensive sessions where practitioners take time to understand your health thoroughly rather than rushing through a quick appointment. You'll be asked detailed health check questions covering areas like gut health and diet to help tailor your treatment plan. The practitioner will listen carefully to your concerns and lifestyle to identify the root cause of issues, not just symptoms. For Chinese Medicine consultations specifically, these thorough initial appointments allow practitioners to develop a traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and create a customised treatment plan. This detailed approach ensures your first visit sets a strong foundation for your ongoing care.
