• Our approach

  Territory Hands specialises exclusively in hand and upper limb therapy, treating injuries from fingers and thumbs through to the upper arm. Sessions focus on comprehensive care tailored to each injury, combining assessment, custom splinting where needed, wound care management, and targeted exercises designed to support recovery from the earliest stages. The team believes early therapy produces better results, so treatment can begin shortly after injury or surgery. Therapists provide thorough education and communication throughout sessions, helping patients understand their condition and pathway back to doing what they love.

• Meet the team

  The team consists of experienced occupational therapists and physiotherapists, all trained in hand therapy. Beth Taylor is the director and an accredited hand therapist with life member status in the Australian Hand Therapy Association and a Certified Hand Therapist qualification, bringing incredible depth of experience gained locally and nationally. The clinical team includes senior occupational therapists Angela Harley and Jennifer O'Neill (both part-time, accredited hand therapists with extensive experience across Queensland and New South Wales), occupational therapist Courtney Smillie, Geena Johnson, and allied health assistant Hannah Mitchell. The practice has over 50 years combined experience in treating hand, wrist and arm injuries, supported by an efficient administration team.

• Your first visit

  At the first appointment, the therapist will assess your hand or upper limb condition to ensure any recommended treatment or splinting is appropriate for your specific injury. You'll receive education about your condition and be given exercises tailored to support your recovery. It's helpful to bring any information about your injury such as a doctor's referral, X-rays or imaging reports, but these aren't necessary to begin treatment. The appointment focuses on understanding your injury, establishing a treatment plan, and taking the first steps toward regaining function and confidence in your hand.
