About Talkabout Speech Therapy

Talkabout Speech Therapy offers speech pathology assessment and intervention to children and adolescents with speech sound, language, fluency and learning difficulties and disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Talkabout uses fun, flexible and family focused therapy to make the biggest impact on your child's progress with the smallest impact on your family life. All therapy is individualised, with the specific needs of your child and your family at the forefront.

Talkabout Speech Therapy lists

One-on-One Therapy
Face to face therapy with your speech pathologist within the clinic, at home, at school or other locations. Available in 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions, including planning, therapy materials, homework, and communication with other professionals.
Group Intervention
Children work together with their speech pathologist to learn and practice speech sound, language, social, and play skills. Within-clinic sessions consist of one speech pathologist with 3-5 children.
Hanen Program - It Takes Two to Talk
A group program for parents of language delayed toddlers and pre-schoolers (0-5 years). Includes pre-program consultation, individual visits from your speech pathologist and planning and feedback sessions.
Speech Sound Clinic
A parent-administered therapy program with one weekly fifteen minute session with your speech pathologist. Includes planning, ongoing assessment, therapy materials and coaching.
Literacy Clinic
A parent-administered program to boost your child's literacy learning from pre-K to Year 6. Includes planning, resource recommendations, homework and one weekly or fortnightly half-hour coaching session.
Inservices and Workshops
Workplace inservices tailored to the needs of your organisation, covering areas such as early speech and language development, techniques for eliciting speech and language, and supporting children with specific difficulties.

    Talkabout uses fun, flexible and family-focused therapy designed to create the biggest positive impact on a child's progress while keeping disruption to family life minimal. All therapy is individualised, with careful attention to each child's specific needs and what matters most to their family. The therapist targets exactly the right activities, advice and resources to help families achieve the changes they want. Sessions can be delivered one-on-one or in group settings, with flexibility around location—the main clinic is in Wallsend, but home and school visits are also available.
