  • Our approach

TALK Speech Pathology uses evidence-based practices to assess children and select goals that have the biggest positive impact on communication skills. The team works closely with children and their families, understanding that speech pathology is integral to developing communication, learning, social skills and confidence. Sessions address a range of areas including speech sounds, talking and listening, eating and feeding, spelling and reading, fluency, stuttering, and social skills. Therapy is structured to be productive and reap significant rewards through careful assessment and goal selection tailored to each child's needs. Services are provided across preschools, schools, homes and clinic locations in Adelaide and the Fleurieu Peninsula.

  • Working with families

Your speech pathologist will support you with ideas and strategies for application at home, with short, regular practice bursts recommended as most effective. Support can be offered incidentally during play and simple home-based activities, making it easy to integrate into your daily routine. The administration team will greet you in person at clinic locations or answer questions over the phone. Services are delivered across homes, preschools and schools as well as clinic settings, allowing flexibility in how you engage with the service. The team understands that involving families is key to helping children develop communication, learning, social skills and confidence.

  • Meet the team

The team consists of speech pathologists and administration staff who are enthusiastic, professional and experienced in their work. All speech pathologists are members of Speech Pathology Australia and must complete the Professional Self-Regulation Certificate annually to maintain their training. The team is well-equipped to help families navigate the needs of children with a variety of diagnoses including Childhood Apraxia of Speech, dyslexia, learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, developmental language disorder, intellectual disability, ADHD, and auditory processing disorder. The administration team provides friendly, supportive customer service across clinic locations and via phone. Many team members have experience with telehealth and home, school and preschool visits.

  • Your first visit

An initial consultation and assessment is charged at $230 per hour, with assessments ranging from one to three hours depending on the needs identified. During this time, the speech pathologist will assess and evaluate your child to determine appropriate goals for therapy. A written report may be requested at additional cost. No referral is needed – you can call directly on (08) 8358 1114 to book an appointment. This comprehensive initial assessment ensures the therapist understands your child's needs and can design a targeted therapy plan that will be productive and effective.
