About Stepping Stones Therapy Services
Stepping Stones Therapy Services is a multi-disciplinary paediatric private practice dedicated to helping children reach their full potential and actively communicate and participate in all aspects of their life. All staff follow the ECIA's National Guidelines for Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention, ensuring services are evidence-based, functional, fun and enjoyable for families. They provide direct therapy sessions, consultative support, education for adults involved in the child's care, and communication with other professionals to ensure coordinated support.

Our approach
Therapy at Stepping Stones combines direct sessions with experienced clinicians, consultative support for families and educators, coaching for the adults in your child's life, and collaboration with other professionals. Sessions are designed to be engaging, playful, and strengths-focused, celebrating what your child can do rather than just working on difficulties. The service is grounded in evidence-based practice following the ECIA National Guidelines for Best Practice, incorporating principles of family-centred care, inclusion, teamwork, and functional skill development. Therapists work across home, school, and community settings to help your child communicate, participate, and thrive in all areas of their life.
Working with families
Family involvement is central to how Stepping Stones operates, with services designed around the principle that families are the centre of all support. The service includes consultative support and coaching to guide families, educators, and caregivers in understanding how to help their child, with a goal of empowering families to become their child's own therapist. Therapists provide resources, visual supports, and equipment to help your child participate across home, school, and community. The team works collaboratively with everyone involved in your child's care to ensure coordinated, consistent support.
Meet the team
The team at Stepping Stones is multidisciplinary and includes Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists with varied specialist training and qualifications. Team members complete additional training in evidence-based approaches such as the Greenspan Floortime Approach, Learn Play Thrive for autism, Sensory Integration, the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to feeding, Zones of Regulation for behaviour support, and Attention Autism, among others. All clinicians follow the ECIA National Guidelines for Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention and are constantly upskilling to maintain current, evidence-informed practice. The team also includes a Business Manager to ensure quality practice standards are met.
