Our approach
Stepping Forward delivers evidence-based, personalised physiotherapy tailored to each child's stage of development and unique needs. Rather than focusing only on clinical terminology, the team helps families identify meaningful, functional goals—like running with friends or doing monkey bars—that matter to children. Sessions use a flexible range of options including intensive treatment blocks, home and school-based sessions, aquatic therapy, group sessions, and specialised techniques such as dry needling, serial casting, and manual therapies. The practice is set up to help children feel at ease and enjoy their exercises, with access to specialised equipment including reformers, gross motor play equipment, and walking slingsAll ages from newborns through teens are welcomed in a warm, engaging environment.
Working with families
The team values each family's unique needs, experiences and goals, taking time to help identify meaningful objectives together. Communication starts early—from the first phone call—with the goal of lifting stress and anxiety for families and making them feel part of the care team. Physiotherapists provide not only therapeutic support but also parent education and emotional support, and can deliver sessions across different settings including home, childcare, kindergarten and school to suit your family's routine. The practice is described as friendly and professional, helping parents feel confident and supported throughout their child's therapy.
Meet the team
The team includes experienced physiotherapists such as Audrey, Nicole Dimopoulos, Charlotte, Dora, and Melanie, each bringing expertise in working with children and families. The physiotherapists are qualified in evidence-based assessment and treatment, and offer specialised skills including dry needling, serial casting, Turtle Bracing, and management of assistive equipment. The team takes a multidisciplinary approach, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to support each child's development. Parents praise the team for being professional, engaging, thorough, and emotionally supportive through their child's therapy journey.
