  • Our approach

Spill the Beans uses evidence-based speech pathology with a strengths-based, family-centred philosophy. Sessions are play-based and highly interactive, designed so children learn through natural engagement rather than formal instruction. The practice provides assessment and treatment across speech sound disorders, language delay, feeding difficulties and stuttering. Parents are actively involved in sessions, so families feel confident supporting their child's progress at home. Services are available in person or via telehealth to make therapy accessible for families in regional and rural areas.

  • Working with families

Parents are welcome and actively involved in sessions—Tennille loves having you there so you feel confident supporting your child at home. Communication happens from the first enquiry onwards, with the team aiming to respond within 2 business days by phone or email. After assessment, a personalised therapy plan is created together with families, outlining session frequency and therapy goals. Results and progress are discussed openly with you, and if there are wait times for therapy, these are explained upfront. The practice aims to make therapy accessible and supportive for all families, including discussing concession rates where available.

  • Meet the team

Spill the Beans is owned and operated by Tennille Loxton, a certified practicing speech pathologist with over 12 years' experience. She graduated with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology from Flinders University in 2011 and is a member of Speech Pathology Australia. Tennille has worked across public, private and not-for-profit settings in metropolitan Melbourne, including community health, primary schools, and specialist early intervention for deaf and hearing-impaired children. She has now returned to the Limestone Coast region to run this practice.

  • Your first visit

At the first appointment, Tennille will spend time getting to know your child and understanding your concerns. The session includes some assessment and play-based observation to see how your child's communication is developing, which helps identify priorities for therapy and set meaningful goals together. You'll have a dedicated time to discuss the results and next steps. If there's a wait for therapy after the assessment, this will be discussed openly with you. The appointment is 60 minutes of direct time plus 30 minutes for indirect work (like report writing), and you'll receive a brief written summary of the results.
