  • Our approach

Speech Academy Services uses evidence-based and family-centred practices delivered through home, school, and clinic-based sessions tailored to each child's needs. Therapy is developed in collaboration with families and their wider support teams, with therapists setting achievable goals, implementing practical strategies, and regularly evaluating progress. Sessions focus on building the capacity of parents, caregivers, and educators to implement strategies across everyday settings. The team uses approaches including individualised and group therapy, telehealth options, and a range of specialised programs matched to each child's presentation and strengths.

  • Working with families

Family involvement is central to the practice philosophy. Therapists seek to build the capacity of parents, caregivers, and educators to implement strategies at home, school, and within the community through hands-on support and guidance. The team provides individualised parent training, capacity-building supports in everyday settings, and works collaboratively with families to establish meaningful, functional goals. Communication with families occurs through direct therapy involvement, parent training sessions, and ongoing collaboration with the child's wider support team.

  • Meet the team

Speech Academy Services has a multidisciplinary team including six senior speech pathologists (Souha Karim—the Director with a Master's degree and specialised training in autism, feeding, and alternative communication systems; Seham Elbaff with expertise in early intervention; Mariam Ahmed with training in social thinking programs; Sussan Makki skilled in early language and autism; and Kristy Ellis with a focus on young children with autism), plus a speech pathologist (Heba), a registered psychologist (Barine), two occupational therapists (Eman and Lina), and allied health assistants.
