Our approach
At Scoot Paediatric Therapy, the approach is grounded in joyful, evidence-based, and family-centred care that celebrates each child's strengths and brings fun to learning and movement. Sessions focus on creating meaningful progress that matters most to your family, guided by values of joy, care, collaboration and empowerment. The team works in partnership with children, families and other therapy teams to ensure clear communication and support that extends beyond the clinic. Every child is recognised as unique and constantly changing, with their own pace of development, and therapy is tailored to their individual needs and goals.
Working with families
Family involvement is central to how Scoot Paediatric Therapy operates, with a commitment to partnering with parents and carers to ensure clear communication, genuine understanding, and support extending beyond the clinic. The service emphasises empowering families with the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to help their children reach their goals and thrive in all aspects of life. Telehealth consultations are also available as a way to see your child in their natural environment and upskill family members and support networks who may be unable to attend the clinic in person. This collaborative approach means parents and carers are valued partners in their child's therapy journey.
Your first visit
At your first appointment, your physiotherapist will discuss a tailored plan based on your child's goals, condition, and progress to determine how many sessions they'll need. It's helpful to bring any relevant medical paperwork, referral letters, investigations (such as x-ray reports or MRI findings), your NDIS details if applicable, comfortable flexible clothing, and your child's favourite toy if they struggle to settle in new environments. Before attending, please complete your New Client Information Form and Terms & Conditions form using the link sent via email or text at least 24 hours beforehand—this gives your therapist time to prepare. The initial consultation lasts 45 minutes and costs $190 (or $214.65 for NDIS-funded clients with the initial consult rate). The clinic is welcoming and accessible, with change facilities and disabled bathrooms available at both locations.
