Our approach
The practice takes time to understand each child's hand or upper limb issue and provides unbiased, thoughtful care. Treatment is tailored to individual needs and considers multiple options including therapy, splints and exercise programmes. Compassionate hand therapists work through problems of any size, guided by a commitment to excellence in hand and upper limb care. Sessions focus on developing personalised rehabilitation programs to help children regain function and do the things they value most. The team stays current with the latest clinical approaches, technologies and research into treating upper limb conditions.
Meet the team
The team comprises highly skilled occupational therapists and physiotherapists with specific training in hand and upper limb conditions. All therapists are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and are trained in in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pain management. The practice emphasises professional development well beyond association requirements, and team members engage with The Australian Hand Therapy Association. Therapists are able to design and make custom splints and compression garments, and are trained in early-stage injury management including wound and scar care.
Your first visit
At a first consultation, the therapist will carefully listen to and assess your child's situation to understand the nature of the hand or upper limb problem. The practice prioritises clear communication and takes time to explain the condition fully so you and your child understand what is happening. The therapist will develop an individualised treatment plan tailored to your child's specific needs and goals. This comprehensive initial assessment allows the team to explore different treatment pathways and ensure your child receives the most appropriate care from the start.
