  • Our approach

Read Well Spell Well uses evidence-based, structured, multisensory literacy intervention rooted in the Science of Reading. Sessions focus on the underlying skills required for reading and spelling success—including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension—rather than surface-level practice. Drawing on speech pathology expertise combined with a deep understanding of how children learn to read, each session is tailored to your child's specific needs and delivered one-to-one in a thoughtful, unrushed way. The aim is to help your child feel confident and capable while building strong foundations for lifelong reading and spelling success, not offering a quick fix but a permanent solution. Sessions are delivered in-person or online, allowing for a calm, personalised approach that supports both learning and confidence.

  • Working with families

Read Well Spell Well keeps communication parent-focused and supportive. Families are invited to book a free initial parent call to discuss their child's needs and get personalised guidance. The service also provides regular Read Well Spell Well tips and tools that parents can use to support their child with reading and spelling at home. The provider emphasises that strong foundations and ongoing support help children reach their full potential, positioning parents as partners in their child's literacy journey.

  • Meet the team

Read Well Spell Well is led by Michele, a Registered Speech Pathologist with extensive skills in Literacy Intervention and years of experience helping primary school-aged children in Sydney's northern suburbs. Michele has spent many years developing deep expertise in literacy support and realised that many children require a level of insight and expertise that goes beyond traditional tutoring. She brings a genuine passion for helping children with learning difficulties such as dyslexia succeed, combined with deep empathy and understanding of the pressures students face.

  • Your first visit

The first step is a free 15-minute parent call to discuss your child's literacy needs and explore whether private support is suitable for your child. This conversation is focused on understanding your child's specific challenges and ensuring alignment between your family's needs and the service, rather than being an assessment or teaching session. Once it's confirmed that Read Well Spell Well is the right fit, a personalised program is individually designed based on the specific areas your child is struggling with, whether that's decoding, spelling patterns, reading fluency, or written expression. Placement screens are used to understand your child's unique literacy profile, allowing for a tailored learning plan specifically for them.
