  • Our approach

Pepper Kids Therapy uses evidence-based practice across all services, with a focus on helping children succeed in life. The therapy team includes qualified occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists, and parent coaches who work in a multi-disciplinary environment. Sessions involve both face-to-face time with your child and non-face-to-face time for session preparation, documentation, and collaboration with your family and wider support network. The service is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation, with an Adult Attendance Policy that recognises the important role parents, guardians, and nominated adults play in creating safe and effective therapy environments.

  • Working with families

Parents and carers are actively involved from the start. Initial appointments for most services include a dedicated parent-only consultation to discuss your child's needs and complete a support plan together. The provider recognises the important role parents, guardians, and nominated adults play in creating safe and effective therapy environments. Non-face-to-face supports include time spent communicating with parents about progress and co-developing resources for home use, such as communication placemats and visual schedules. The team also communicates with external service providers like educators and other therapists as part of collaborative, multi-disciplinary care.

  • Meet the team

The team includes a Psychology Lead (Clinical & Counselling Psychologist with Board Approved Supervisor credentials), a Senior Speech Pathologist & Team Leader, and an Occupational Therapy Lead. The provider has a large multi-disciplinary team of over 100 staff members across four clinic locations, including occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists, and client services coordinators. All staff are qualified and paediatric-focused, with access to the latest resources and up-to-date assessments.

  • Your first visit

The initial appointment process varies by funding type and service. For NDIS-funded speech or occupational therapy clients, the intake includes a 50-minute parent-only consultation by phone or telehealth, followed by 60 minutes of non-face-to-face supports for treatment planning and support plan development. For NDIS psychology, there is a 60-minute parent-only consultation in the clinic plus 60 minutes of non-face-to-face supports. For private and Medicare clients, speech and occupational therapy intakes are 30 minutes, while psychology intakes are 60 minutes in the clinic. Following the initial appointment, ongoing sessions are structured with 40 minutes of face-to-face time plus administrative preparation and note-taking.

There's no "too early." If you have concerns about your child's talking or understanding at any age, an assessment can clarify whether support would help.

How long are sessions and how many will we need?

Session length varies between clinics and services, so check it with the provider when you book. The number depends on your child's goals; the pathologist will recommend a plan after the initial assessment.
