Meet the team

Paedicare's team comprises six qualified paediatricians, including two specialist endocrinologists. Dr Yassmin Musthaffa and Dr Dallas Fowler are uniquely trained in both paediatric endocrinology and general paediatrics—a rare combination in Queensland—allowing them to provide comprehensive, holistic care for hormonal and general health concerns. Dr John Gunn specialises in newborn medicine and all aspects of child health from age 0–18 years, and is described as caring and family-focused. All paediatricians share a common goal of providing evidence-based, holistic care that considers the whole child and family circumstances.

Your first visit

At a first appointment, children receive a thorough medical assessment. For newborns, this includes a complete assessment soon after birth, typically followed by two to three additional visits if all progresses well. For general paediatric consultations, the initial visit establishes the child's health status and concerns. The paediatrician will discuss findings and treatment plans with families to ensure everyone understands the issues at hand. A consultation fee applies, which may be partially offset by Medicare rebates depending on your coverage and whether you've reached the Medicare Safety Net.
