Our approach
Next Wave Therapy's holistic approach combines evidence-based practices with personalised care strategies to help you move, think and feel alive. Sessions involve a comprehensive assessment to identify all factors contributing to your pain, followed by hands-on treatment tailored to your specific needs and lifestyle. The team offers a diverse range of therapies—including specialist physiotherapy, occupational therapy, naturopathy, massage and psychological support—that work together to optimise healing and prevent further injury. Whether managing a recent sports injury, long-standing pain, or complex conditions, treatment plans are customised to support your full participation in daily life and help you reach your potential.
Meet the team
The team is led by Dr Jonathan Wray (FACP), a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist with advanced training equivalent to PhD level, specialising in complex musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Sasha Wray is the principal occupational therapist and naturopath, bringing integrative healthcare experience since 2000 with qualifications in occupational therapy, naturopathy and trauma-informed care. Other physiotherapists include Rushil Shah (with paediatric physiotherapy skills and GLA:D certification), Lisa Russ (15 years' experience, neuro-affirming care advocate and Olympic medalist), Kyu Shin (musculoskeletal specialist with strength and conditioning focus), and Atiya Burrow Ali (occupational therapist with neuro-affirming and creative therapy approaches). The multi-disciplinary team also includes massage therapists and psychologists, all working collaboratively under one roof.
Your first visit
Your initial consultation includes a thorough evaluation with a detailed history and physical assessment, followed by a clear diagnosis and hands-on treatment. You'll receive a comprehensive management plan with prescribed exercises and advice on the recommended frequency and duration of your treatment. For psychological therapy, the initial appointment includes a comprehensive evaluation with detailed history and mental health assessment, leading to a clear diagnosis and a thorough management plan with guidance on treatment frequency and duration. The team works with you to decide which therapies best suit your needs and designs a customised treatment plan from the start.
