Our approach
NAPA Centre takes an individualised, child-centred approach to therapy, recognising that each child has unique needs and goals. Sessions draw on a diverse range of therapies sourced from around the world, delivered by experienced therapists across occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, and developmental feeding therapy. Programs are customised as either intensive multi-therapy combinations or weekly sessions with the same therapist, tailored to your child's specific needs and your family's goals. The centre uses innovative therapy tools including the NeuroSuit, Multifunctional Therapy Units, and various other evidence-based equipment to support physical development, communication, feeding, and independence. Therapists work collaboratively to help children reach their full potential, whether addressing motor skills, speech and language, oral motor function, sensory needs, or feeding difficulties.
Working with families
NAPA involves families through several key touchpoints: the intake process is designed to thoroughly understand your family's goals and needs, coordinators reach out to discuss recommendations and schedule sessions, and the Ocean Friends app allows you to manage appointments and stay connected with your care team. The approach emphasises working with families rather than in isolation, with programs customised to fit your family's goals alongside your child's needs. There's opportunity for discovery conversations with the Client Experience team before committing, and families are guided through each step of the process with support from coordinators who remain available for questions and adjustments.
Your first visit
Your first step is to submit an interest form through the website, which gives the team basic information about your family and begins matching you with appropriate care. Before committing, you can request a discovery session with the Client Experience team to ask questions and learn what to expect. Once you've decided to proceed, you'll complete a thorough intake questionnaire that helps therapists understand your child's history, goals, and needs to build the right plan. The team reviews your intake within two weeks and, depending on your program choice, either provides intensive recommendations through the Ocean Friends app or contacts you to schedule your first weekly session. You'll then download the Ocean Friends app to manage appointments, access documents, and stay connected with your care team.
