  • Our approach

Learn and Lead uses an evidence-based approach grounded in the latest research and proven programs. Sessions combine assessment, goal-setting, and tailored interventions with activities, exercises, and strategies designed to address each child's specific communication challenges. The team employs a strength-based, client-centred philosophy that recognises each child's capabilities and lived experience, with a commitment to making sessions engaging and effective. Therapy focuses on improving speech, language, and communication skills while building confidence, ensuring every child receives personalised care tailored to their individual needs and interests.

  • Working with families

Parents play a crucial role in therapy by participating in sessions, practising exercises at home, and reinforcing strategies learned during therapy. Parent involvement enhances the child's progress and promotes carry-over of skills into everyday situations. The service uses a family-centred approach that encourages open discussions about assessment results and values clear, open communication to ensure the best outcomes for every family. The team strives to ensure families feel understood, respected, and empowered throughout the therapy process, with culturally responsive practice that celebrates diversity and creates a welcoming environment for all.

  • Your first visit

The process begins with an initial contact via phone or email to discuss your child's communication concerns. Following enquiry, you'll receive a client information form to provide details about your child's unique needs, which helps the speech therapists prepare adequately. A comprehensive and personalised assessment is then conducted by skilled speech therapists to identify your child's strengths and areas for improvement. Following assessment, you'll receive a detailed report with findings and recommendations. The team then embraces a family-centred approach, encouraging open discussion about results and collaborating with you to establish functional goals that ensure therapy sessions are tailored to your child's specific needs and interests.
